This Paleo Hot Mulled Apple Cider recipe is an old favorite for the holidays. When I lived up north, we used to make this to keep us warm, but now I make it because it reminds me of being home for the holidays (8 more days!!). I’ve put some alcoholic options with it – as we usually like to bend a little and have a drink or two when hanging with the family. Its delicious without though. If you follow us at all, you know my obsession with this time of year. I love the holidays…and not for the presents, or the travelling, but for the food and family. I really am one of those nerds that just love to cook all day for a big group of people, plop down on the sofa, watch football and eat all day. I know, I shouldn’t say that, but with all of our delicious fall Paleo recipes, I really can do just that! I just can’t get over how much we love being Paleo – makes the holidays a lot less nerve-wracking!
Paleo Hot Mulled Apple Cider (Hot Toddy)
8 cups Paleo Apple Cider
10 Cinnamon Sticks (+ garnish)
12 Whole Cloves
10 Allspice Berries
Orange Peel from 1 Orange
Optional: 2 cups Rum (or Honey Whiskey is fantastic)
Bring all ingredients to barely a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes.
Garnish with cinnamon sticks or orange peel. Make sure to strain out the cloves and allspice when you serve!
