Paleo Melon Avocado Salsa, A Vegan Salsa

This Paleo Melon Avocado Salsa is made with honeydew melon, avocado, cilantro, lime juice, white onion, coarse sea salt, and jalapeños and is perfect for our Paleo Skirt Steak! Sometimes, the easiest thing to do is start with a basic protein, then give it just a little something extra. That’s why I love salsas – they can vary greatly in taste and texture, but can change the entire tone of a meal. And if you have a food processor, it goes even faster! If you do use one, put the onions in first, so that you can chose how fine to mince everything.

Have I ever mentioned how much I freakin love Angel? I know that I probably don’t say it enough, but sometimes, it amazes me how synced up we are. He really is my other half… sometimes, its nice to know that I have someone to fall off and get back on the wagon with – we had a little cheat moment that really messed up our tummies, but we’re good now. Oh, it makes you wonder why you ever ate anything other than Paleo!!

Recipe: Paleo Melon Avocado Salsa


  • 1 cup Honeydew Melon
  • 1 Hass Avocado
  • ½ cup fresh Cilantro
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1/3 cup White Onion
  • ½ tsp Coarse Sea Salt
  • Optional: 2 Jalapeños


  1. Chop the melon, avocado, cilantro and onion (and jalapeños, if you are using them), discarding the rinds, peels, and cores. You can chop these ingredients or mince them – or even throw everything into a food processor and just hit go.
  2. Add the lime juice and sea salt, give it a quick toss to incorporate the sea salt throughout and serve over chicken, shrimp, skirt steak (our favorite!) or your favorite protein!
  3. This recipe is Vegan!
