Meats:

Beef, Pork, Lamb, Veal, Rabbit, Goat, Sheep, Bison, Deer

Etc….Basically if it is grass or vegetarian fed, you can eat it!

Poultry

Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Quail, Goose

Etc…Again if its cage free and grass fed, you can eat it!

Shellfish

Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, Oysters, Mussels, Lobster, Crab

Fish

Salmon, Trout, Tuna, Bass, Halibut, Sole, Haddock, Tilapia

Etc…Any wild caught fish is fair game!

Fats

Coconut oil, Avocado oil, Meat fats, Olive oil, Nut butters, Nut oils, Fruit oils, Flower oils (though keep the safflower and sunflower to a minimum)

Eggs

We get the omega 3 cage free, free range, but that’s just our thing. I’d at least go free range…

Vegetables

Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Asparagus, Cucumber, Avocados, Cabbage, Broccoli, Squash, Mushrooms, Anything green or colorful

Etc….Anything but starches…so no potatoes, no corn!

Leafy Greens

Lettuce, Spinach, Chard, Watercress, Endive, Arugula

Etc…You can eat as much leafy greens as you want! No matter what kind!

Root Vegetables

Carrots, Beets, Radish, Yams, Parsnips, Sweet Potatoes, Yucca, Taro

Etc…We eat root vegetables under the theory that you can eat them raw (which is our general rule…if you can eat it raw, its pretty much ok)

Nuts and Seeds

Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pecans, Walnuts, Brazil nuts, Pistachios

Etc…Many people don’t eat cashews, as you cannot eat them raw, but that is a personal choice. We have some recipes with them, and a lot without.

Fruits

Berries, Melons, Grapes, Plums, Peaches, Apples, Bananas (tho keep high glycemic index fruits to a minimum)

Etc…All fruits are ok (in moderation or not at all if you are trying to lose a lot of weight)

Herbs & Spices

Ginger, Garlic, Parsley, Sage, Chilies, Vanilla, Mint, Basil

Etc…Learning how to use spices properly will really help you love your foods even more!
