Let me tell you something about summer and BBQ. It. Is. Awesome. There is nothing better than the smell of the ocean on a hot summer day with some BBQ out back. Sand, Sun, Ocean, Biking, Bocce, Grilling, Cocktails…I just love it! And Angel happens to be pretty mean on our new grill. And I do love watching my man cook!!
This year, we pretty much skipped spring and went straight to the good stuff. And in the spirit of the summer that has come early this year (you heard it the other day, 90 degrees IN A GREENHOUSE for the Tour de Farm), I’m adding to my Creamy Paleo Coleslaw recipe, this Sweet and Tangy Honey BBQ sauce. It is a little sweet and a little zippy with a liiittle kick in the pants. We love to put this on our BBQ Ribs (which I’ll add if Angel lets me) and grilled pineapple. YUM!
Paleo Sweet & Tangy Honey BBQ Sauce
1 can (8oz) Organic Tomato Sauce
2 Tbsp Paleo Ketchup
1 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
1 Tbsp Coconut Vinegar
3 Tbsp raw Honey
1 tsp ground Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Onion Powder
3 Arbol Chili Peppers
Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
Can’t take the heat?? No worries! Just omit the peppers and add about 1/4 cup of Olive Oil…Voila!
