I know it doesn’t look like it now, but we are both actually really into different styles of food. Unfortunately, it is just really hard to find those types of food that are Paleo, so we’re making them ourselves.
Anyway, I made this the other night and it turned out fantastic. It has a delicate taste of spices, not overpowering in any way. I may actually make this for my parents when they come to visit this weekend. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.
Paleo Vietnamese Steak
2 New York Strip Steaks
1 Tbsp Lemongrass
2 Garlic cloves
1 Tbsp Honey
½ tsp Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Fish Sauce
1 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
1 Tbsp Lime Juice
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tsp Cilantro
2 dried Arbol Chile Peppers
1 tsp Ginger
Blend all ingredients except the steak. Combine the mixture with the steak and marinate the meat for at least 20 minutes in the refrigerator. We will let it sit longer if we have the time.
Heat the grill to medium-high. Grill steak about 4 minutes on each side for rare. See our Perfect Steak Cooking Guide for more information!
Let stand for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain of the meat.
Garnish with cilantro and lime wedges.
Serves 2-4
Serve with our Asian Salad, Kelp Noodle Salad and our Vietnamese Curry Soup for a perfect meal!
